Abdul is a warm and compassionate GP who brings a wealth of experience to his patients. Originally from the Fiji Islands, he has spent a few years living and working in Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals, where he has cared for patients across a wide range of medical settings.


He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Fiji in 2013. Driven by a passion for continuing education, he went on to complete a Master of Family Medicine from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Diabetes from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Certificate in Emergency Medicine from the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and a Graduate Diploma in Child Health from Western Sydney University.


Over the years, Abdul has worked as a Rural Doctor, General Practitioner, and in Emergency Departments in both Fiji and Australia. These experiences have helped shape his caring, well-rounded approach to patient care.


His special interests include Paediatrics, Mental Health, Geriatric Medicine, Diabetes and Palliative Care. Abdul believes in creating a safe, supportive space where patients feel listened to and involved in their healthcare decisions.


Fluent in English and Hindi, he enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life and values open, respectful communication with his patients.


Outside of work, Abdul loves travelling, reading (printed books), and trying new cuisines—he’s also an excellent cook! He enjoys keeping active and makes time to visit the gym regularly.
